This Malawi chair brings a piece of the rich African savannah into the nursery.

The frame is made of genuine wood and is then finished with woven rattan. It is both traditional and modern. Its unique silhouette gives the nursery a warm touch.

These sought after unique pieces of hand crafted art are made by the talented people of Malawi, Africa. Each chair takes 10 days to complete, handcrafted by Malawi artisans in partnership with non-profit organization People of the Sun. The tradition has been passed down from generation by generation and these iconic chairs have made a significant impact on the design community around the world.

Made from rattan with traditional knotting rather than glues, the authentic way each unique piece is made continues the tradition to this day. No two chairs are ever identical, we celebrate these natural imperfections and value the hand made nature as beautiful pieces of art.
